Allison Neumann's New Montana Sapphire Collection Sings More Than Just the Blues

Allison Neumann's New Montana Sapphire Collection Sings More Than Just the Blues

There’s a special concrete space in our hearts that belongs to industrial-mod design commune the Glashaus, where Allison Neumann’s new Montana Sapphire Collection is tucking the precious stone into her signature clean, sweet settings.

The gems’ non-heat-treated colors range from cyclamen pink to sunset peach to the familiar shades of blue. In a rare twist, Neumann uses raw stones in addition to traditional cut ones; a particular gray-green raw sapphire ring in 18K gold (weighing in at 1.48 carats and $1500 for size 7.5) is a head-turner.

All the stones came from fellow Glashaus-mate Jamie Huffman, a modernist furniture designer whose family owns a sapphire mine in Montana.

“Jamie mentions this to me one day,” says Neumann on how the collaboration started, “and next he’s bringing out a jar — a jar — full of sapphires. I was like, ‘Are you serious?’”
